Jim Barto has had a varied career in music as a performer, composer, arranger and educator. A lifelong trumpet player, he is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied composition and arranging with an emphasis on film scoring. Immediately after graduating from Berklee, he joined the faculty as an Instructor of Film Music Composition and held that position for eight years. During this time, he also arranged music for Boston recording sessions and scored music for nationally-televised documentary films. Following his time in academia, Jim has concentrated on music technology in the form of arranging and recording music with computers. Currently, he operates BartoMusic.com, a music technology website designed to facilitate music arranging and production through downloadable audio media. |
